Hi, I am Kelvin. I graduated from Queen Mary with a Law degree in 2013. I am currently working as a deal manager in the Global Financial Operations division of Oracle. I was the President of Queen Mary Malaysian Society, a student ambassador for the School of Law and a student adviser at the School's legal advice centre.
I chose Queen Mary because I was drawn to the well-publicised supportive and friendly atmosphere around the campus and the significance the College places on diversity and inclusion. The lecturers are very committed in their teachings, they inspired me to study laws with a wider perspective. Tutors are extremely helpful and they will take extra efforts to provide first-class learning experience.
Undoubtedly, my experience at Queen Mary has increased my employability considerably. Choosing Queen Mary was definitely one of the smartest decisions I ever made. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to find out more about life as a Malaysian at Queen Mary.

One of the main reasons I chose to stay in Queen Mary for my degree is because I probably had one of the best years of my life doing the International Foundation Year here. Everyone was so friendly, including the teachers, and I just felt at home.
However, the main reason I chose to stay was because the teachers got the very best out of me and allowed me to fulfil my potential.

Coming from Malaysia, a country that is extremely multicultured, where food is the most important part of our very being, the smell of curry meant familiarity in an unfamiliar place. Looking back now, I wasn't just ok, i absolutely thrived at Queen Mary.
The location of the university meant i was able to have the perfect combination of campus life and because it is situated in one of the most exciting cities in the world, it gave me the flexibility to be independant, to explore London and what the city has to offer.

As a mature student with a baby and bills to pay, I had more challenges than many other young students. I have to work part-time and study full time. Queen Mary gave me the flexibility and support that I needed.
I cannot thank enough Queen Mary and the Department of Law for accommodating my needs and providing us with first class lecturers. I am always proud to say that I am a graduate from Queen Mary, a redbrick university and part of the Russell Group!
