Information for students from Nepal

Queen Mary University of London has a long history of welcoming students from around the world. Over the years, many thousands of international students have graduated from the university and gone on to pursue successful careers. Today, we are home to students from more than 162 different countries and over 45% of our student body come from outside of the UK. This diversity contributes to a lively and welcoming community that should make you feel comfortable and at home.

We are one of the largest colleges of the University of London and one of the few with fully integrated teaching, research and residential facilities. Our setting provides our students with the benefits of both a large campus environment, and the countless academic and social opportunities provided by London.

There are currently 5 students from Nepal studying at Queen Mary who are enrolled on a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

 

Entry requirements

Undergraduate

Academic:

  • QMUL accepts students with a minimum of 60% in their Higher Secondary Education Certificate to Foundation programmes
  • Students holding a Bachelors degree from a recognised university with good grades can be considered for entry to a QMUL Bachelor’s Programme
  • Please refer to the prospectus and department web sites for individual subject A-level and IB requirements.

Postgraduate Taught

Academic:

  • Queen Mary considers students holding a First Class Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Nepal for postgraduate entry.  The length of study at Bachelors level must be a minimum of 3 years.
  • Case specific decisions are made for students holding other post-school qualifications.
  • Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to master’s programmes with a lower level in their degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Postgraduate Research (MPhil/PhD: 3 years)

Academic:

The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a master’s degree from a recognised Nepalese university. Some departments also accept student with a First or Upper Second-Class Bachelor’s degree.
