How to apply

Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website.

We also consider students from the Czech Republic with the following qualifications:

  • Vysvědčení o maturitní zkoušce / Maturita (Secondary School Leaving Certificate)

This is Queen Mary’s equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the Maturita:

GCE A-Levels Maturita Certificate
A*AA Award of the Maturita with at least 1.25 average overall and 1,1,1,1 from best four subjects
AAA Award of the Maturita with at least 1.5 average overall and 1,1,1,2 from best four subjects
AAB Award of the Maturita with at least 1.7 average overall and 1,1,2,2 from best four subjects
ABB Award of the Maturita with at least 20. average overall and 1,2,2,2 from best four subjects
BBB Award of the Maturita with at least 2.25. average overall and 2,2,2,2 from best four subjects

Please note, the Maturita is not accepted for admission to either our MBBS or BDS programmes delivered in London (but it is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes). However, the Maturita is accepted for admission to our MBBS programme delivered in the Republic of Malta

Postgraduate

We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Bachelor Degree (180 ECTS credits) from a recognised institution.

UK 1st class degree: 1.2 out of 4
UK 2:1 degree: 1.5 out of 4
UK 2:2 degree: 2.5 out of 4

The above relates to grading scale where 1 is the highest and 4 is the lowest.
