Undergraduate
Students who have successfully completed A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate will be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate degrees. We may also consider recognised Foundation qualifications. For individual grade requirements for particular degree programmes please refer to the undergraduate study section of this website.
We also consider students from Switzerland with the following qualifications:
- Federal Maturity Certificate or a Federally Recognised Cantonal Maturity Certificate
This is Queen Mary’s equivalency table for GCE A-Levels and the Maturity Certificate:

Undergraduate Medicine and Dentistry Admissions

Please note, the Maturity Certificate is not accepted for admission to either our MBBS or BDS programmes (but is accepted for all other undergraduate programmes). However, it is is accepted for our MBBS programme delivered in the Republic of Malta.
Postgraduate
We normally consider the following qualifications for entry to our postgraduate taught programmes: Bachelor degree (180 ECTS credits) from a recognised institution.UK 1st class degree: 5.5 out of 6; or 9 out of 10
UK 2:1 degree: 5 out of 6; or 8 out of 10
UK 2:2 degree: 4.25 out of 6; or 7 out of 10
