The Architecture Review Board

The Architecture Review Board (ARB) is the ITS governance committee responsible for Enterprise Architecture. It reviews and validates proposed solutions against QMUL policies, principles and standards to ensure strategic alignment, business benefit, fitness for purpose and risk optimisation. ARB also validates and approves changes to the Enterprise Architecture itself and Technical Standards.

Proposals are submitted to ARB for review and approval, as follows:

· Solution Options – summarising the proposed implementation options for a given change or idea.

· Solution Architecture Design (SAD) – describing a solution for a capital project or major change.

· Architecture Request – request for architecture work submitted directly by ARB members via the ITS Architecture Sharepoint site.

· Standard – addition or update to the Standards Information Base (SIB)

ARB normally meets bi-weekly and is chaired by the Head of Enterprise Architecture. Membership consists of the ITS heads of divisions, their deputies and delegates together with members of the ITS Enterprise Architecture team. Escalation is to the ITS Lead Team.
