Description
It is the responsibility of QM departments to ensure that IT Services is notified of IT equipment requiring disposal or removal so that QMUL is protected from any future liability.
If applicable to the type of equipment, IT Services will firstly remove any confidential data or restricted/sensitive information before assessing if fit for purpose to return to stock, or disposed of if deemed end of life. For items deemed end of life IT Services will remove any licensed software then assess if it meets the criteria to donate to charity or to follow the UK Government’s guidelines for disposal of electrical waste.
