Library System - bX Recommender (Suggestions)
- Service Group: Help, Support, and Policy Service
- Users: Staff, Students
Service Description
bX™ Recommender, rebranded 'Suggestions' at QM, is a service that helps users discover relevant literature that they would not have found otherwise. Based on SFX usage logs and starting from the reference the user is looking at, it checks what other references were looked at by other researchers who also looked at 'this' reference, and displays a list of the most looked-at items.
bX usage-based services:
- use analytics and data-mining of raw usage data to enrich and expand the researcher’s discovery experience
- create new insights by exposing usage patterns, associations between topics, authors and articles as well as popularity and success of library systems
bX is available in SFX, Articles Search, and Elsevier Science Direct and Scopus. Standard APIs are available to integrate bX into other services and web pages.
