On Wednesday 16 February 2022, Meghan Mizen (QMLAC Projects Coordinator)spoke at LawWorks ‘InfoExchange on Domestic Abuse’. We spoke of our partnership with Royal Courts of Justice Advice and our new Domestic Abuse Form Filling Clinic.
The February LawWorks InfoExchange focused on supporting clients suffering domestic abuse and the importance of domestic abuse awareness and wellbeing training for volunteers. We were joined by speakers from Royal Courts of Justice Advice, Travers Smith, and Hertfordshire Law Clinic at this inciteful and supportive event.
As a proud LawWorks clinic it was a great opportunity to share and learn best practices and to hear about other clinics’ experiences assisting both clients and volunteers. As a result of this InfoExchange, we are up-skilling on ‘vicarious trauma’ and how to prevent it, and refreshing the wellness training that we provide to our volunteers. Find out more about LawWorks.
The Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre launched our Domestic Abuse Form Filling Clinic in September 2021, it assists clients with the first steps in obtaining non-molestation and occupation orders. Find out more about the clinic and book an appointment.
