On Thursday 1 December 2022, the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre took part in the annual London Legal Support Trust’s Great Legal Bake. The event is for justice in support of frontline free legal advice services. It is also an opportunity to raise some vital funds to ensure that the most vulnerable and poorest people in our communities can get access to justice.
The day kicked off with a great start with generous bakes being donated by both staff and students. If you did not have a sweet tooth, you were sure to be enticed to buy. We were able to have a good spread and almost ran out of tables to put them on!
Throughout the day there were also fitness challenges for anyone that wanted to test their fitness levels and may have felt guilty by indulging in the sweet treats. The challenges consisted of a squat hold, plank hold, press ups and sit ups. It is fair to say that those that participated were pleasantly surprised with their personal bests.
The bakers did a fantastic job in their creations, and it was a complete sell out. Some people kept coming back for more. The bakers were also entered into a competition. A massive congratulations to the winners below:

A big thank you to everyone that made a monetary contribution or bought in a bake to sell. A massive thank you to our Student Support Team and both Queen Mary caterers and the Rink Off Bakery for their donations.
