The George Hinde Moot is Queen Mary's internal undergraduate mooting competition.
The final will be judged by Lord Justice Pitchford. The case title is "Criminal Law Moot on causes of death and dangerous driving".
Drinks will be served from 5.30pm in the Octagon, the final will start at 6.15pm after the Field Fisher Waterhouse Prize presentation. A canapés reception will follow the final in the Octagon.
Our co-sponsors for the event will be Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP. The Field Fisher Waterhouse Prize is an annual prize presented to one of the Student Advisers in the Legal Advice Centre. The successful student is selected on their contribution and commitment to the LAC as well as their academic ability. This year’s prize required students to submit a 2,000 word essay discussing the statement "Given that individuals have the legal right to die, should they also have the legal right to be killed?" The winner will receive a two-week vacation placement and £1000, with the runner-up receiving a two-week vacation placement and £500.
