The Department of Law of Queen Mary University of London is hosting the forthcoming IV CINETS Conference on Mobility and Security in an era of Globalization. The Conference brings together both established scholars and early-career researchers whose work fits within the concept of ‘crimmigration’ or subjects parallel to this. Scholars coming from various disciplines (in particular, law, criminology, sociology, human geography, anthropology, ethnography) have been selected to present their research on various themes; human trafficking and smuggling - including the criminalisation of solidarity to refugees-, detention practices, making sense of the normalisation of 'crimmigration', securitisation of mobility from the perspective of the EU and the US and recent trends in creating a 'hostile environment' against migrants and refugees.
