Please join us as we welcome Dr Ana Maria Fagetan to discuss her new book ‘The Regulation of Hedge Funds: A Global Perspective’. In the book Dr. Ana Maria Fagetan discusses the dynamic legislative challenges to which the financial sector across the globe has been subjected to, providing up-to-date insights into the ever-changing legislation of hedge funds.
The book guides the reader through the complex interplay of the many state laws and regulations. The regulatory analysis of the selected jurisdictions, located both onshore and offshore, includes the US, the UK, several EU jurisdictions and also particular offshore jurisdictions, and offers an understanding of the historical developments, current regulatory changes and further possible perspectives and shifts expected to happen, most of these measures being stemmed from the crisis regulatory overreaction.
Dr Ana Maria Fagetan is a Senior Lecturer in Banking and Financial Regulation at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, where she teaches post-graduates lectures and seminars on Banking and Financial Regulation and at the “Academia della Guardia di Finanza” a post-graduate Course in Banking and Financial Supervision. She earned her PhD under the supervision of Professor Rosa M. Lastra and her LLM in Banking and International Financial Law at Queen Mary University of London. Dr Ana Maria Fagetan is also an Italian lawyer advising clients on hedge funds, banking and commercial law as a member of the law office of Prof. Domenico Siclari in Rome. She is a member of the Commission of Banking Law at the Bar Association of Rome.
