Time: 1:00 - 1:00am Venue: Room 3.1, Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, 67-69 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2A 3JB
The Postgraduate Law Society (PGLS) charity work group and QMLens (a photography interest group), together with the support of CCLS, is holding an exhibition showcasing photographs taken by the postgraduate law students during their time here in London. A picture speaks a thousand words and we hope that through the displaying of their photographs, the public will have an opportunity to view London through the eyes of the photographer.
In conjunction with the exhibition, there will be a launch of a series of merchandises for sale. The designs for the merchandises are based on selected photographs and all proceeds from the sale of merchandises will go towards two organisations, namely the Food for School programme of UNICEF and Missione Possible. In line with the theme chosen by the charity work group, children and education, the Food for School programme provides food to families of girls to replace their labour value at home so that the girls can have an opportunity to attend school, while Missione Possible runs various children's health and education projects in Cambodia.
The merchandises will be placed in specially designed tote bags and will include items such as oyster card travel wallet, bookmarks, keyrings and other items and will be on sale at £10 per bag. Participants who purchase the tote bag will get free admission into the exhibition.
On 20 March, there will also be a 'Best Photograph' contest and on 21 March, there will be a bake sale organised in conjunction with the exhibition.
The photo exhibition will take place on Thursday 20 March 2014 from 6pm to 8pm and again on Friday 21 March 2014 from 4pm to 8pm.
For directions to the venue, please refer to the map.
No prior registration is required for this event. An admission fee of £1 will be collected at the door.
