Professor Geraldine Van Bueren QC 'Magna Carta's lost sister' in The Times

Geraldine Van Bueren QC, Professor of International Human Rights Law, writes on the Charter of the Forest (1217) - Magna Carta's 'forgotten sister' - in a letter to The Times. The Charter "protected (albeit in feudal terms) social rights – including the right to food". Professor Van Bueren says that in 21st century Britain no one should need to use a food bank, and suggests that during the Magna Carta’s anniversary year the coalition and opposition "should agree to reinstate what was once British: the basic human right to food".
