Professor Richard Ashcroft and Dr Sophie Harman to take part in Life Sciences seminar series

Published:

As part of Queen Mary University of London’s life sciences (LS) initiative, Richard Ashcroft, Professor of Bioethics, and Dr Sophie Harman, member of QMUL International Relations team, will each be participating in a series of seminars for staff and students starting in October 2014. The aim of the series is to foster an exchange of ideas around the life sciences across the university.

The LS initiative involves interaction from all three of QMUL’s Faculties, and the seminars will reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the programme with speakers going outside of their own departments to give talks on their LS research in another School or Institute.

Professor Ashcroft's seminar will be part of the Wolfson Institute seminar series and will take place on 13 October. It is entitled 'If we build it, they will come: personal genomics, ethics and the future of health services'.

Dr Harman's seminar will be part of the School of Law seminar series and will take place on the 29 October. It is entitled 'The four challenges of gender and global health'.

For more details on these seminars and others see the LS seminar series events page
