A right to housing should be part of UK law says Professor Geraldine Van Bueren

With homelessness on the increase, the UK should follow the Netherlands, Ireland, Brazil and India where a right to housing is enshrined in law, argues Professor Geraldine Van Bueren QC in The Guardian. “Homelessness has increased by almost a third in England and, with generation rent sleeping on sofas and over-40s locked out of mortgage finance, the need for a radical rethink of housing policy is urgent,” she writes.
