Amber Marks speaks at an event on 'Probability and Statistics - Perspectives from the Legal Profession'

Amber Marks, Lecturer in Criminal Law and Evidence and Co-Director of the Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), gave a presentation at an event on 'Probability and Statistics - Perspectives from the Legal Profession', 9 February 2016. The presentation focused on the aims of the law of evidence in relation to the admission of expert opinion and aimed to shed light on why there might be doubt, or mistrust of probability and statistics in court. It also highlighted areas in which the role and importance of mathematics in the criminal justice system is likely grow.
