Dr Violeta Moreno-Lax, Lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), has been awarded the Odysseus Network Young Researcher Prize 2016 for her work in immigration and asylum law. The prize was awarded for her essay on ‘The Legality of the “Safe Third Country” Notion Contested: Insights from the Law of Treaties', in Migration & Refugee Protection in the 21st Century: Legal Aspects (Brill | Nijhoff), edited by G.S. Goodwin-Gill and P. Weckel. The prize will be awarded during the 2017 Odysseus Annual Law and Policy Conference "Beyond ‘crisis'? The State of Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy in the EU", which will take place in Brussels on 10 February 2017.
