Professor Sionaidh Douglas-Scott, Anniversary Chair in Law and Co-Director at the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC), has written a blog 'The "Great Repeal Bill": Constitutional Chaos and Constitutional Crisis?' for UK Constitutional Law Association. In her blog, she says: "Some (John Redwood, for example) advocated changing UK law by repealing the ECA 1972 and so unilaterally ending the application of EU law in the UK, regardless of any Art 50 TEU negotiations. But if taken prior to (or in the absence of) formal withdrawal from the EU treaties under Art 50 TEU, such actions would clearly violate both EU law and international law, and be very harmful to the UK’s international reputation."
