Ian Walden, Professor of Information and Communications Law and Head of CCLS, commented on the legal dilemmas spawning from social media in Law Gazette. Walden said media law was once a ‘relatively clean subject’ but has been blurred by the rise of social media and services spanning multiple regulatory areas. He points to Netflix, both a broadcaster and online programme service, and YouTube, which both broadcasts programmes and offers user-generated content.
