Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas gave two keynote speeches on the evolution of European integration in criminal justice co-operation and on police co-operation and surveillance at an event commemorating the 20 years from the seminal Tampere conclusions on Europe’s Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. The conference took place on 3-4 October and was organised by the Finnish EU Presidency and the Centre For European Policy Studies (CEPS). Professor Mitsilegas is Professor of European Criminal Law and Global Security and Deputy Dean for Global Engagement (Europe) at Queen Mary.
