The Centre for Commercial Law Studies launches an inaugural event with The British Institute for International and Comparative Law

The event will look closely at the Innovations in Investment and Finance with a focus on sovereign wealth funds and regional development banks.

Convened collaboratively by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies and the British Institute for International and Comparative Law (BIICL), the event will take place on the 25th of March at BIICL, Charles Clore House, 17 Russell Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1B 5JP, UK from 2-4 pm.

BIICL Director, Professor Spyros Maniatis, will chair the event and the discussion will be moderated by Professor Rosa Lastra and Professor Malik Dahlan. 

Tom Fearnley, Investment Director of the Norwegian SWF will deliver a talk about Norwegian investment strategy and the SWF landscape and long-term considerations in management and investment decisions.

Nathalie Lichtenstein, former General Counsel of the Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will cover the role of development banks, with a particular focus on Asia. 

The talks will be followed by a Q&A discussion, focusing in particular on the need to develop global standards in the field beyond the Santiago principles.
