Professor Rafael Leal-Arcas, Jean Monnet Chair holder in EU International Economic Law at Queen Mary University of London, gave a webinar on 'How can trade agreements contribute to sustainability?' in the framework of EUCROSS at the University of Leuven, Belgium, on 9 October 2019. The webinar discussed how the trading system can help mitigate climate change.
In the webinar presentation, Professor Leal-Arcas argued that free trade agreements have a lot of potential to help mitigate climate change in an effective manner and provide greater access to clean energy. This webinar builds on his article 'Sustainability, common concern and public goods,' published by The George Washington International Law Review.
