Professor Rosa María Lastra has written in the Financial Times about the call for stablecoins to be regulated in the same manner as money market funds.
Professor Lastra, Sir John Lubbock Chair in Banking Law at Queen Mary, wrote: "That would be a big mistake. Money market funds have experienced major problems whenever the market values of their reserves fell below the value of the US dollar or another designated fiat currency."
