The project involves him leading a team of co-investigators based in London, Warsaw, Antwerp, and Copenhagen over the next 18 months, in collaboration with stakeholders in industry, government, civil society and international organisations.

The Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Awards recognise the outstanding contribution HSS staff make to Queen Mary University of London through innovative scholarship and educational activities.

They are judged by a panel of experts in the HSS Faculty who assess submissions based on their likelihood to enhance learning and improve our research culture.

Professor Matthews said: “The award raises the profile of this vital research project and will help ensure that lessons are learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of vaccine production and supply, enabling future pandemic preparedness to be enhanced on a global scale”.
