For the second year in a row, Professor Ioannis Kokkoris has been featured as an expert in the WWL: Competition rankings; a comprehensive guide to the leading competition and state aid lawyers and economists around the world.
The rankings are co-published by Who’s Who Legal and the Global Competition Review. The list is compiled using referrals and feedback from law firms, economic consultancy firms and other stakeholders in competition law.
The result is a list of the best consultants, expert witnesses, and advisers in the world, who are recognised for their provision of expert knowledge and testimony in complex antitrust matters, alongside the superb advice they provide to lawyers and clients on intricate matters of competition economics. Ioannis Kokkoris is Director of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies and Professor of Competition Law and Economics at Queen Mary University of London. He is a leading authority on matters relating to competition and economic law. He is a special advisor to a number of competition authorities globally and frequently advises companies on competition enforcement issues in a number of jurisdictions.
He has also led and worked on funded projects by the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the OECD, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other international institutions. He also frequently comments on issues relating to competition and economic law for media outlets including the BBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, and the New York Times and speaks at conferences all over the world.
Most recently, he published two monographs with Oxford University Press - Public Interest Considerations in US Merger Control: An Assessment of National Security and Sectoral Regulators and Merger Control, National Security, and Foreign Direct Investment Screening: A Comparative Perspective.
