The 2024 Edinburgh Festival of Legal Theory opened with a preview symposium on Professor Maks Del Mar’s new book, Neil MacCormick: A Relational Life, which will be published early in 2025.
The Symposium was held on 3 June 2024, and featured commentary from Colin Kidd, Nicola Lacey, Claudio Michelon, and Neil Walker. The papers from the Symposium will be published in the Edinburgh Law Review in 2025.
The book is the culmination of many years of research on the life and work of the Scottish legal philosopher Neil MacCormick (1941-2009), including archiving his papers and making his contributions more broadly available. Research on the book has been supported by a Royal Society of Edinburgh Fellowship, a Leverhulme Research Fellowship, and a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship.
Maks Del Mar is Professor of Legal Theory and Legal Humanities at Queen Mary University of London.
