The report was published by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on UK Music, an influential cross-party group of MPs and Peers in the UK Government that discusses issues in the music industry.

The report looks at many of the potential threats and challenges, and potential uses of AI in the music industry. It outlines nine recommendations for the UK Government, some of which include enhancing personality rights, strengthening UK copyright laws, and introducing transparent labelling for AI generated materials to allow consumers to make an informed choice. It also recommends that a pro-creative industries AI Bill should be created to implement the recommendations of the report.
Noam Shemtov, Professor of Intellectual Property and Technology Law at Queen Mary University of London, provided invaluable expertise and insight to the APPG group earlier in the year. Many of his remarks and recommendations have been taken on-board by the Group, particularly on the issues of fair market access, personality rights, and international standards. He is quoted several times in the final report.
