Professor Dan Hyde was appointed Visiting Professor to the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London in 2018. An alumnus of Cambridge University, Dan is a prominent practising lawyer, business coach and academic author who lectures widely and teaches cyber regulation and cybercrime at postgraduate level.
A leading authority on the law as it applies to cyber, emerging technologies, innovation and financial regulation, Dan is widely published; authorship/co-authorship includes the first and leading UK publications on cyber law as well the international regulation of cryptocurrency and blockchain. Dan is currently authoring a third edition of Cybersecurity Law and Practice together with a new work framing the law and strategy around entrepreneurship.
Dan was a special adviser to the UK Government in its recent review of information security legislation, an officer of the International Bar Association and is currently Cyber Coach-Mentor at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School and Barclays Eagle Labs. He delivers talks around the world and provides broadcast commentary for major national and international television channels.
