Profile

Teaching design law and professional ethics on the Intellectual Property Law Postgraduate Certificate, MSc Intellectual Property, and Trade Mark Law and Practice Postgraduate Certificate courses.

Darren is a patent attorney and partner in the firm EIP, where he is Head of Knowledge.  Before entering the patent profession his academic background was in chemistry, with his postgraduate study at the University of Oxford and post-doc at the Tokyo Institute of Technology focusing on synthetic organic chemistry.

Research

Interests include patent law, design law, ethics, the Unified Patent Court, genetic resources and the Nagoya Protocol.
