What influenced your decision to choose a LLM at Queen Mary?

I had already heard of the Queen Mary programme from friends, but I was specifically attracted to the Paris programme by a very good friend who had also completed it a few years prior to my enrolment. 

How did you find the teaching and learning?

The quality and calibre of the professors and the teaching was second to none that I have experienced. True experts in their chosen fields of specialisations and with great and varied experience.

What was key about your programme/ were there any highlights?

The banking and finance specialisation helped me to deepen my understanding of an important, and integral part of modern society, as well as develop an appreciation for the rules and systems that govern these complex financial institutions and systems, the technology that forces them to evolve, and the threats that legal and financial professionals need to be aware of.

Did you combine modules across specialisations and if so, what were the advantages of this?

I completed a few modules across the intellectual property, and technology specialisations. The advantage of this was cross-referencing relevant laws and issues across the different spectrums, such as financial technology. Additionally, auditing different modules helped me make the most, and take advantage, of the learning opportunity that the LLM gave me.

What piece of insight or advice would you offer for future students?

The biggest insight I had was that almost every one of my intake was from a different country, a different jurisdiction of law, spoke different languages and had different cultures. Yet, we formed
