As an Early Stage Researcher of the Joint European Doctorate within the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network - Innovation Society (EIPIN IS) project, I have been pursuing my PhD research at the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the University of Strasbourg, France (my primary research institute) and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), (my second research institute). The EIPIN IS project encompassed five European Universities and 15 Early Stage Researchers.
My specific research topic was about European judiciary in the field of intellectual property (patent) law and was assigned to the University of Strasbourg in partnership with the QMUL. Due to my personal research interest towards this topic, I decided to apply for this position and upon acceptance within the programme, I was allocated to these two universities.
Out of the three years of my PhD research, I spent six months in London. Within the EIPIN IS project, I have followed one course at QMUL, in particular, the Social Sciences and Comparative Methods training led by Professor Lisa Webley and Professor Guido Westkamp at CCLS. I have found this training very helpful for my thesis and I would definitely recommend other PhD researchers to attend a class on research methodology. I have also presented my PhD research at the doctoral seminar held within the EIPIN IS at CCLS.
Overall, I am glad that I have been given the opportunity to spend some time at QMUL and for meeting very friendly researchers and colleagues at CCLS. Currently, I am an associate researcher at Sciences Po Paris in France.
