Queen Mary has a long-standing reputation in excellence in education. I wanted to be part of the distinguished alumni community and acquire the best knowledge from the renowned faculty in QMUL.
I was a distance learning student at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, QMUL. The interaction with my professors and fellow students was great, and the seamless online learning platform which made access to up-to-date material made for a very pleasant experience.
I was fortunate to study the LLM in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Law course with the best faculty in this field. The programme covered critical and current areas of legal and policy related to technology. The modules were well designed to equip students with knowledge of contemporary topics such as Competition Law, IP, E-Commerce, and International Telecommunications Law. The QMUL TMT Law course is unique in many aspects and prepares graduates for a tackling real-world problem with a solid and deep understanding of all legal issues related to technology.
I recommend perspective students to consult with the programme leaders on the best combination of modules, and to pay attention to the demanding nature of each module. The programme is very demanding and requires real commitment to benefit from the wealth of knowledge it provides.
I advise Distance Learning students to network with fellow classmates and faculty members to exchange ideas and debate the current issues that relate to their modules. TMT Law is an evolving field and keeping up with new technology trends is paramount to the success in the programme.
Indeed. The programme specialisation has widened my horizons and equipped me with unique knowledge in the TMT space. It also added to my analytical, drafting and commutation.
My experience at CCLS/QMUL was unique in that I learned from the best professors in TMT Law. The current research that is conducted by the faculty was a great value add to my studies. I also enjoyed the weekend sessions every year where I got to meet my cohort in person.
