Call for submissions

The Editorial Board seek original literary and creative submissions that explore the ways in which legal systems consider the role of inclusivity, both regarding law on inclusivity, diversity and equality as well as the issues surrounding the inclusivity of the law as it is established and created.

A group of people of different ethnicities and genders putting their hands together in a circle.Interdisciplinary approaches to inclusivity within the law that assists in bridging the gap in understanding these continued issues are greatly welcome from any field, such as anthropology, sociology, history, gender and cultural studies.

Some suggestive sub-themes for the issue are as followed:

Gender and the law

  • Feminist legal perspectives, LGBTQ+ perspectives, intersectionality, and issues of access.

Intellectual Property and Inclusivity

  • Barriers faced by underrepresented groups in accessing and benefiting from intellectual property systems.
  • Protecting traditional knowledge and indigenous intellectual property.
  • Inclusivity in the digital and AI-driven creative industries.

Economic Development through Inclusive Law

  • How inclusive legal policies contribute to broader economic growth. Different approaches on recognition and redistribution policies of inclusivity.
  • The relationship between legal inclusivity and sustainable development goals.

Legal Reforms and Innovation

  • The role of inclusive legal reforms in stimulating innovation across different sectors.
  • Equality law and comparative studies of legal frameworks that successfully integrate marginalised groups into innovation ecosystems.

Legal philosophy

  • Moving beyond John Locke, law and economics approaches to diverging legal lenses such as Post-colonial, TWAIL, law and morality. Offering a varied inclusive approach to legal interpretation. Theory of Recognition and and its relationship with inclusivity.

Inclusivity in the digital era

  • Protection of personal data relating to children/vulnerable workers, Algorithmic discrimination and the role of laws in promoting fairness.
