Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas participated at the Commission Experts' Meeting on the Implementation of the EU-USA Agreement on Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance, held in Brussels on 27 September 2011. The purpose of the meeting, which was attended by officials from the European Commission and Eurojust as well as representatives of EU Member States, was to assess progress as regards the implementation of the Agreements and to discuss the development of future initiatives in the field. Professor Mitsilegas provided a legal analysis of the two Agreements in the light of the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty.
