The Academic Skills Centre have reached out to each of the Queen Mary Schools and asked for information on the referencing styles they expect their students to use. A summary of their responses has been included below.

This list should only be used as a general guide. For detailed information on the specific styles that you are expected to use in specific pieces of work, talk to your tutors.
Your tutors will be able to provide you with information about which referencing style you should use for your programme.
Biological Sciences: Harvard or Vancouver (check with your tutor)
Psychology: APA (American Psychological Association).
Consult your school.
Harvard or Vancouver (check with your tutor).
MHRA (Modern Humanities Research Association).
Broadly aligns with the Harvard style. Check the School of Geography Referencing Guide for Students, which should be available on all Geography QMPlus module pages.
The undergraduate and postgraduate modules in all SLLF departments use Harvard as their academic referencing system for assessment and assignments.
These departments are Film, Comparative Literature and Culture, Modern Languages and Culture, Linguistics (Linguistics modules may set an alternative system in some cases).
Details can be found in Student handbooks (for example, the UG Student Handbook), and departments/modules will provide more information as appropriate.

Chemistry: Royal Society of Chemistry style.
