Typed account of Lance Corporal Loman’s escape from a Belgian hospital with 11 other men. The men split into smaller groups and were aided by Belgian civilians.
Loman journeyed from the hospital in Wihéries to Mons and on to Brussels evading capture by the German soldiers sent to look for them. From there he travelled to Antwerp and into Holland, eventually making it to the British Consul and gaining passports and passage back to England.
