Archives materials have been brought together in Remembering the First World War to recount the wartime experiences of those at home, and the plight of the displaced such as Belgian refugees. Highlights include a leaf taken from the grave of Frances Grenfell as a keepsake, by his family who mourned his death and that of his twin brother, Riversdale, who were both killed in the war, popular nursery rhymes reworked for propaganda purposes, photographs and document illustrating the experiences of Belgian refugees in England.
