The Archives provides copies of items held in the collections in accordance with the Archives Access Policy (download Archives Access Policy [PDF 163KB] file).
Archive users are permitted to take photographs of the collections, in the Archives Reading Room, using their own digital camera. Users wishing to take photographs, should inform the Archives Reading Room Supervisor and complete a Self-Service Photography form (download PDF [PDF 93KB] file). Users will also be required to adhere to the following:
A photocopying and scanning service is offered for users requiring copies for private research. To order photocopies or scans, complete an Application for Copies [DOC 66KB] form. For security and preservation reasons copying will be carried out by Archive staff.
Payments are made via card through the eshop but always get in touch first to confirm a quote for your order before making a payment. You will then be instructed whether your request can be fulfilled via "Archive Reprographics - Photography" or "Archive Reprographics - Scan" . Orders can also be payed via invoice if the total is more than £50. You can pay in cash if you place a copy order in person during a visit.
All copy orders will be sent digitally unless otherwise requested in JPEG, TIFF or PDF formats (if you have a preference please note this on your form). Requests for physical copies may be subject to additional charges for postage.
Please note:
Permission must be obtained from the Archives, prior to the publication of any material from the Archives collections. Publication includes the use of copies in books, journals, CDs, magazines, film, television, video, electronic publications such as websites and CD-ROMS, and other forms of public display such as exhibitions and public lectures. To obtain permission complete a Permission to Publish form [DOC 69KB].
Depending on copyright and ownership status, we may charge publication fees on some material as outlined below.

Permission to quote from any of the collections in the Archives should be obtained by applying in writing to the College Archivist. For citation please use the following form of reference:
