‘The Ricci Flow: an interplay between Topology, Geometry and Analysis’
Hamilton's Ricci Flow is one of the most successful ideas in modern mathematics, being the main tool in Perelman's proofs of the Poincare Conjecture and Thurston's Geometrization Conjecture as well as in Brendle and Schoen's proof of the Differentiable Sphere Theorem.
In this lecture, we will be given an overview of the history of the Ricci Flow andsome of the problems that can be solved using it.
