On Saturday 15th June 2019 the School of Mathematical Sciences took part in the Tower Hamlets Festival of Communities in Stepney Green Park.
A team of Undergraduate Ambassadors from the School ran The Puzzle Zone, introducing a range of accessible maths games and puzzles to local residents.
Visitors had the chance to try their hand at a Rubik's Cube, create their own geometric patterns and play our new Professor NIM marble game.
The Festival of Communities - now in its fourth year - is an annual celebration exploring living and learning in the borough of Tower Hamlets, bringing together academic schools from Queen Mary along and local community organisations to provide a packed programme of family-friendly activities.
It is the first time the School of Mathematical Sciences has had a presence at the Festival.
Thank you to all who came along and to Queen Mary's Centre for Public Engagement for putting on a great event - we look forward to joining the Festival again next year!
