For students considering applying to our Masters programmes there are plenty of things to consider, including the important question of funding.
Thankfully, there is a significant amount of support available both from the University and from other sources. The full detail of this support can be found on our Funding a Masters webpages(link is external).
We have the pleasure of confirming two sources of funding in particular, to be drawn to your attention:
1. QMUL School of Mathematical Sciences – Scholarships for MSc students
2. New governmental Postgraduate Loans Scheme, starting 2016
The details of each of these can be found below:
School of Mathematical Sciences – Scholarships for MSc students
We in the School of Mathematical Sciences are delighted to be able to again this year offer a generous selection of Scholarships and Bursaries to applicants to our Masters programmes.
It is important to us to be able to offer this financial support for outstanding applicants across our four MSc programmes.
For 2016 entrants, the Scholarships available are as follows:
There is no need to complete a separate application form to be considered for any of the Mathematical Sciences Scholarships listed above (excluding Chevening Scholarships(link is external)). Students will be considered for an award on the basis of the information they provide in their online application to Queen Mary University of London. Successful candidates will be informed of their award via email.
For more information about individual scholarships and eligibility criteria, please see our Funding a Masters webpages(link is external).
New Postgraduate Loans Scheme 2016
This year, for the first time, the government has announced that it will be offering loans for postgraduate students entering in the 2016/17 academic year.
Loans of up to £10,000 will be available for eligible students. Applications for these loans will be on a similar basis to the undergraduate scheme and are due to open in summer 2016 (TBC by the Student Loans Company). Repayment will also be on a similar, income-contingent basis (repayment conditions are explained in more detail here).
