Last week on Friday 29 April, the School of Mathematical Sciences hosted the annual Postgraduate Research Day. The event, which was open to all staff and students, showcased the students’ ongoing research projects in a supportive environment. At the end of the event, prizes were awarded to students to 2nd year students judged have given the best poster and 3rd year students or research presentation.
The judging panel consisted of Professor David Arrowsmith, Professor Franco Vivaldi and Dr Behrang Noohi. Whilst all students were commended by the judging for the high standard of work, several won awards for their research:
The School of Mathematical Sciences Presentation Prizes went to Federico Battiston, Nick Day, Katherine Clinch and Sol Gil Gallegos.
The Ann Cook Poster Prizes were awarded to Imen Belmokhtar, Michael Cole, Hakan Guler.
