Student satisfaction in the School of Mathematical Sciences is now at 84% according to the National Student Survey of final year students.
Queen Mary, University of London, has achieved overall student satisfaction of 88% to rank equal second in London with UCL, and ahead of King’s College London, LSE and Imperial College.
The 2011 National Student Survey questioned UK undergraduates on various aspects of their student experience and measured overall student satisfaction. Student satisfaction at Queen Mary is higher than the average score of the Russell Group of universities. The University is now ranked 29th out of 184 higher education institutions for overall satisfaction, up 11 places from 2010. In 2010 overall satisfaction at Queen Mary was 86%.
Dr Vivien Easson, Executive Officer for Teaching and Research, said: "Students' responses to the survey repeatedly comment on the friendliness and approachability of academic and professional staff within the School of Mathematical Sciences. It's good to see student satisfaction increasing again this year, particularly in areas such as feedback and personal development. However, we are not complacent! Staff work hard every year to improve students' experience of their programmes - we know that we don't get everything right but we are keen to listen and to improve what we do year on year. This is shown by the fact that we are among the top five Schools in Queen Mary for improvement in student satisfaction since 2006."

Over 260,000 final-year students took part in this year’s National Student Survey, which has been published annually since 2005 by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
Final year undergraduates from all publicly funded Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and participating HEIs in Scotland, are invited to take part.
