Our team of Maths Ambassadors are confident, enthusiastic and passionate about mathematics. Ambassadors work closely with staff in the School of Mathematical Sciences to deliver engaging and dynamic outreach programmes for a wide range of audiences. Through talks, tours and events, they motivate and inspire young people, broaden public knowledge of mathematics at QMUL, and promote our programmes.

Our Maths Ambassadors are a dynamic team of students from all over the world. You'll join a supportive and stimulating network for students of all academic backgrounds, across both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Get to know your Ambassador team in your introductory training and on the job where you will develop impressive team-working skills. Many of our ambassadors stay with the scheme for the duration of their studies at QMUL and forge long-lasting friendships.
Each of our Ambassadors has a unique university experience to share. Through tours, workshops, talks and events, you will bring the University to life and provide valuable insights into studying at QMUL. Your first-hand knowledge will help visitors understand what it’s like to study maths at university and is highly valued by teachers, parents and careers advisors.
Professional skills and experience have never been more important for graduates and we provide many opportunities to strengthen your CV as a Maths Ambassador. You will receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience, including presenting and campus tour delivery.

The Maths Ambassador contract is flexible, meaning that students have the freedom to select when they work. This ensures that the programme fits well with academic study and helps students to maintain a manageable balance between their professional and academic work. Whilst Maths Ambassadors have the freedom to select their hours, they are expected to work regularly throughout the year.
As a Maths Ambassador you will be paid generously for the hours which you work, including for travel time to and from offsite events where appropriate.
The programme is open to all students within the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
