Queen Mary, University of London’s School of Law has been ranked first in London and third nationwide in The Guardian’s annual university guide.
The School has also been listed as a top 10 place to study law, according to figures published by The Times and Independent earlier this month.
Professor Peter Alldridge, head of the Department of Law at Queen Mary, said: “The guides are clear recognition that we offer a wonderful all round legal education. We emphasise academic excellence, and also, through our award winning Legal Advice Centre and pro bono activities, upon student inter-personal and career development.
“This rating is a reason for pride, but not for complacency. Competition for the very best students is intense, and we are always trying to improve upon what we offer our students.”
In other subjects, Queen Mary was listed eighth for Drama (which came third in the Independent poll), ranked fifth in Politics and seventh in Physics. The College overall was ranked 46th, up from 57 last year.
The tables provide useful information for the more than 600,000 people applying for university this year. The information is based on data for full-time undergraduates at universities in the UK.
