Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry has taken the latest university ranking by storm, with medicine rising 20 places to be ranked in sixth place nationally and dentistry rising to seventh place from 12th in the last year.
These are the results of the newly-released Complete University Guide 2012 - a league table of all UK universities based on a variety of criteria including entry requirements, research and student satisfaction.
Queen Mary as a whole has moved up three places to rank 36th nationally. The largest improvement was in medicine but dentistry, drama, law, linguistics and Russian all made it into the top ten.
The guide described Queen Mary as offering ‘the best of both worlds: a quiet campus, at the heart of the East End, and only 15 minutes from central London’ and said that ‘entry to medicine and dentistry, law and English courses are particularly competitive.’
