The latest Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey reveals 94.2 per cent of QMUL graduates are in work or study, six months after leaving the university.
This is the fourth year in a row this employment performance indicator has increased at QMUL and the current figure surpasses pre-recession levels for the university as well as the UK wide figure of 93.9 per cent.
The results of the survey, compiled by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), also show QMUL exceeded its Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) benchmark - which takes account of subject group, entry qualifications, ethnicity and age on entry - by 0.8 per cent. This places the university third in the Russell Group in terms of performance against benchmark.
Elsewhere QMUL moved up in rank among Russell Group universities to 13th, out of 24, based on employment performance.
Abi Sharma, Acting Head of Careers & Enterprise at QMUL, said: “The high numbers of our students in work or study is a reflection of the support for employment after graduation offered at QMUL. We network our students with blue chip employers through our 150 on-campus events and our QMentoring programme and give them access to work experience and valuable part-time work via our suite of award winning schemes including QProjects, QConsult, QInterns and QTemps. Students who make the most of these opportunities are extremely well equipped to move into the job market after they graduate or undertake the further study needed for a specific profession.”
