Queen Mary University of London's Malta campus recently welcomed delegates from INSULEUR to the brand-new medical school campus in Gozo.
The visit was conducted as part of the activities programme linked to the annual INSULEUR General Assembly and Forum held on the island this week. INSULEUR is the Network of the Insular Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the European Union.
It was set up in 2000 with the primary objective of improving economic and social conditions in European island regions. It aims to even out the imbalances between continental and island regions.
Fiona Wilson, the medical school’s operations director, said: “We were delighted to welcome network members to our new school building just days before students began studying in its state of the art facilities for the first time.
“The University’s presence here reflects many of the objectives and values of INSULEUR. Both organisations are committed to collaborative working and promoting information and research. The campus also makes a significant contribution to the Maltese economy.”
