Queen Mary University of London has launched two new global talent scholarships, providing further support for Indian and other international students studying at the University.
The scholarships, for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, are aimed at international students with outstanding academic records and are worth £3,000 for students joining Queen Mary in September 2024.
There is no cap on the number of students who are eligible for the awards, which are open to those from all countries with international fee status.
It is the first scholarship that Queen Mary has offered to Indian students which is guaranteed for anyone who meets the eligibility criteria. There is no application or registration process, with successful recipients having their tuition fees reduced when enrolling.
Eligible students for the undergraduate scholarships must hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate programme for September 2024 and achieve A level grades AAA or equivalent, with some programme exceptions.
Eligible students for the postgraduate scheme must hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme for September 2024 and achieve a UK 1st Class Honours or equivalent.
The new global talent scholarships sit alongside a range of other existing support measures for Indian or international students.
Lee Wildman, Director of Global Engagement at Queen Mary University of London said: “We are delighted to be able to announce two new scholarships that will benefit a huge number of students both in India – who are vital members of our community - and across the rest of the world.
“We pride ourselves on our diversity, with students from over 170 countries studying at the University and international students making up approximately 41 per cent of our student body. These new scholarships reflect how much we value this and our commitment to providing every opportunity for talented students to succeed, irrespective of where they come from, which is stronger than ever.”
A Russell Group UK top 20 University situated in the heart of London, Queen Mary has been recognised as a world-leading Russel Group university in research (ranked 7th in the UK in the latest Research Excellence Framework), and a leader in education (ranked in the top ten per cent of universities globally in the 2024 QS World Rankings).
